CS0111 – Computer Skills
Introduction:
Participants will develop their skills through facilitated practical examples and problem solving rather than the traditional workbook style of training.
This is an informative session which highlights the latest updates in the current business technology landscape. It is held at the Diamond Creek Centre at 119 Cowin Street and includes information on the following:
- Overview of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and which to use for what purpose.
- Web links to practice touch typing
- What is possible on the internet - using free web based software to complete work tasks (eg. e-newsletters with mailchimp, e-surveys with survey monkey, event ticketing and rostering)
- Basic introduction to social media
Target Audience:
This basic computer skills course is designed for adult users who have little or no understanding, knowledge of, or experience in using a computer and would like the opportunity to learn with others in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Learning Outcomes:
- By the end of this course you should be able to: Appropriately start up and shut down your computer. Navigate the operating system and start applications. Perform basic functions of file management. Perform basic functions in the Microsoft Office suite.
Learning Methods:
This Computer Skills course is a computer-based workshop and will be delivered in a face to face environment.
