What do I need to do before I can start my Online Enrolments Feature project?

What does a typical Online Enrolment Feature project look like?

Do I need to have a WordPress site to be able use the aXcelerate Online Enrolment Feature?
Yes, the Online Enrolment Feature is powered by a WordPress plugin that will only work on WordPress sites. If your current site isn’t on WordPress we can work within a sub-site that will be statically linked to from your primary site. the site will need to be hosted by you and the details of the site will need to be provided to us. The sub-site will need to adhere to the same system requirements specified in the Customer System Setup and require the same responsibilities in managing the site.
We have a non-WordPress Website, can we have an Online Enrolment Feature integration?
The configuration services for Advanced and Essential Enrolments are only available for WordPress websites that satisfy the basic WordPress System Setup Requirements. We also provide an API which you can use to create your own online enrolments in a non-WordPress website.
I’m not sure if my website is a WordPress site
It’s advisable that you liaise with a professional web developer to ascertain whether your website runs on WordPress and that it satisfies other basic system requirements.
Which theme should I have installed on my site?
Typically we recommend ‘Be theme’, however you are free to use any WordPress theme that abides by best-practices, specifically not overwriting the default WordPress version of jQuery.
When can aXcelerate begin configuring my site for Online Enrolments?
Before we can begin configuration we first need to ensure you have completed the Client System setup. We will also need to scope the requirements of the project that will then need to be confirmed by you in a written statement.
Does aXcelerate offer web development services?
No, aXcelerate’s responsibilities will be essentially limited to the configuration of the enrolment plugin settings and associated web content (eg: courses lists, enrolment forms, etc.). You may still need to engage professional web developers/designers to assist in all non-aXcelerate technical responsibilities. Responsibilities requiring web development skills include but are not limited to: installing a security certificate, installing a WordPress theme, hosting the site, managing conflicting themes and plugins and editing static content.
What if I don’t know web development/design?
If you don’t have a WordPress website already, aXcelerate offers no explicit web development services so you will need to engage third party web designers/developers for your Online Enrolment Feature project. It is recommended that you have some technical skills on-hand for assistance during this project and ongoing maintenance of the site after sign-off.
What if my requirements aren’t covered by the Essentials or Advanced package?
If your online enrolment requirements extend beyond the boundaries of our available packages then we will quote your project as ‘custom’ which will be priced according to the complexity of your specifications.
How long will it take to setup online enrolments for my site?
We typically estimate online enrolment projects to take approximately 6 weeks to configure but this depends on numerous factors. Timeframes around configuration of the pages and the scoping process will depend on the complexity of the project. The largest setback tends to be due to client response time during the scoping process and delays in completing the necessary setup of aXcelerate and the WordPress site before the project can commence. Appointing a single point of contact with a direct phone number helps to negate communication lapses. This timeframe also needs to account for internal testing by our Quality Assurance Team as well as user acceptance testing on your behalf.
What if I want changes to be made to my existing Online Enrolment Feature?
The site is entirely yours to with as you wish so you are able to make any styling and configuration changes you would like with the assistance of your web developers and our help guide. If you need assistance in performing additional configuration please contact our support team at 07 3215 8888 (option 2). If you would like to employ aXcelerate to perform the additional configuration please let our support team know and provide some details of what you require, these details will then be passed on to the Online Enrolment team. The work will likely be scoped as custom work and priced according to the complexity of the project.
